How to find us…
Our studio is on the corner of Dogfield Street & Robert Street in Cathays.

PLEASE ARRIVE NO EARLIER THAN 10 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR WORKSHOP START TIME.

Parking can be really tricky nearby as we are in a student area and most spaces are for permit holders. Parallel parking is a must!
To follow are some top tips, please consider car sharing where possible or opting for alternative methods of travel.
Entrance…
We use our side door on Robert Street as our main entrance, just come on in, no need to ring the doorbell ;-)
Free parking…
After 6pm your best bet is the whole of Fairoak Road as the paid parking ends then, see more about other times below.
On the streets around the studio the Resident Permit spots are marked with a white box, wardens do visit the area often so best not risk parking inside these and look non permit spaces which is about 50% of the area, there are slightly more general spaces a 5 minute walk away on Clun Terrace and on Monthermer Road (near the railway bridge).
Council Parking & 2 minute walk
There is Council paid parking from 8am-6pm a 2 minute walk away on Fairoak Road.
Your first hour is free but you still need to pop your registration on the app.
It is just £1.30 per hour after that and you can easily add extra time if your workshop goes over time etc..
Consider downloading the Mi Permit app before you arrive (location number is 753097).
Free Parking and 7-10 minute walk…
Weekend mornings are the busiest for parking (the students aren’t awake yet ;-) so why not take the 7 minute walk alongside the cemetery on Fairoak road by parking near the Roath pleasure gardens or Lake Spice Indian Restaurant where there are no parking restrictions. You could also stop at Blwm cafe for a coffee on route!
2 Hour Private Car Park & 4 minute walk…
The old co-op car park is now run by ‘Horizon Spaces’ and you can park for 2 hours for £1.50 via their app (the car park location is 50227) It is then a 4 minute walk to the studio
Bus…
You can easily get buses : 2, 8, 9, 95, X1 which all stop on nearby Crwys Road.
Train…
We are an easy 12 minute walk from Cathays Train Station.
Cycling…
We have a bike rack right in front of our building.
Wheelchair Access…
We are situated on the ground floor but there are internal steps from our usual main entrance, but for your visit we can open our front door which we have ramps for. Please let us know if you’d like us to prepare these for your visit. The only slight problem is that the bathroom is by our main entrance so you’d need to exit the front door and re-enter via our side door to use our disabled toilet facility.
Note : Our SEWING room, which we occasionally use for smaller workshops, has steps either side of it, if this would be a problem for you please message us before you book to check which studio the workshop you are interested in is being held
