I’ve been desperate to share my love of working in leather since I started Lark and now I’m settled in my new studio I’d like to offer a short course to show you the amazing qualities of this material, the awesome feature of this course is that we’ll only be using upholstery leather I’ve saved from landfill.

In this fun day of leather crafting, In the morning you will start with a small journal cover to get a feel for the tools and leather, then we will move onto a sunglasses case which will include pattern cutting, polishing, leather cementing, hammering, stitching & hole punching. Then we will take a lunch (you can BYO packed lunch or we have many food outlets nearby like Greggs etc) After lunch you can make a button closing pouch - you can select the size e.g a purse, charger holder, pencil case, make up bag etc..

Gemma is the owner of Lark Design Make. She was a design teacher but left that to set up a little craft business in her hometown of Cardiff. She loves working in many materials, especially leather!
