This 2 week workshop will run through how to knit a sock in the round, the original way!
Knitting socks is an ancient art, being traced back to the 11th century and is a staple technique to have in your knitting skills. There are many ways to knit up socks but this pattern specifically goes through the most original way to knit them - it's easier than you think!
You will learn how to knit in the round on double pointed needles, to knit 1x1 rib stitch, to pick up stitches and learn all the different sections of the sock along the way e.g. the heel flap, gusset, instep etc.
This pattern is the perfect beginner sock pattern, for knitters that can knit and purl confidently without any help!
Session 1: Tuesday 1st April - 6.30pm to 8.30pm
This week you will learn how to knit in the round on double pointed needles and starting to knit the sock in 1x1 rib stitch. You will also learn what the cuff, leg, heel flap, heel turn and gusset is and how to knit them along the way!

This week we will finish going through the next parts of the sock - the instep, sole and toe. Finally, you will learn how to sew in Kitchener Stitch, which finishes the sock off perfectly, mimicking knitting.
